Wrong Profession?

Thought Id try a posting with no pictures, radical I know but it works for English blogger.

This week I've been staying in a hotel all by my lonesome and have been thinking a lot about my life, specifically working life. You shouldn't dwell or make decisions when you're tired or not in the right frame of mind, but I really do think Im in the wrong profession. Accounting is fun, they teach at college/uni, maybe Im just in the wrong area/sector as I take no enjoyment from working with McDonald's currently.
I guess the biggest question on my mind for God is How do you know if you're in the right field of work, or on the right career path? Maybe understanding 'right' comes first?!

You may be in the right job just not in the right place ... radical I know, but maybe London isn't where you should be, so pray about where you should be... Ask God for direction. Then maybe some Job openings will appear. You should then know in your heart then where you should be. It might be London but working for a Christian company helping in the 3rd World...only a thought. Pray and ask God to show what he wants you do, ask him to show you where you are needed and where you can serve him best, but if you do be prepared to listen and to move, because he has been known to send people to strange places...

Chris, Donald spoke about Calling the other week, one of the things he said was about having the right heart and always seeking to do Gods Will and actually caring about whether you are doing the right thing. That is the key ingredient and you have it! Stop worrying it will come to you.

I think Heidi's right. Love God and spend time with him and you'll be ok, the waiting period sucks though (feel free to say this back to me when i finish uni!) God knows you, loves you and has promised to guide you, trust him, he knows what he's doing

Hey Buddy!!

I know what situation your in, felt it when i finshed uni (Wolves uni) and then there were a number of options to choose from, i got prayed for by a number of people, and the doors to all the other options closed and left me with the youth work option, so i think im in the right job, ull have to ask Heidi, she was my supervisor for a time!! Just pray it through and know that there are people praying for you too mate!
Take care, text if you need me!

...english blogger has it right - ptay and listen; and keep asking your friends to pray for you. I have found that this and the disciplines of praying and reading the bible help build confidence so that when the possibilities arise you can step out in faith.

God never lets down those who do. It also took me a long time to realise that the private sector and profit making are not rude words for Christians.

Just ask Shelagh about managers in the health service!

You have intelligence and a brain (surprisingly!) to use to help you to decide what to do!

You also have loads of spiritual support which is great.

Do something you enjoy!

Look in all areas - there's a lot out there. "Live your dream" as Dave says! It is possible to serve the Lord and have a good and fulfilling time.

Wow - Aaron in shades!
